Take The Plunge
VBS 2007
July 23 - 27
Our VBS this real made a real splash with our Take The Plunge waterpark theme. We saw and were able to share the Gospel with 94 different kids over our 5 days of VBS. We started with 51 kids Monday night, jumped way up to 73 on Tuesday, went down the waterslide to 71 on Wednesday, 63 on Thursday, and when everyone got out of the pool on Friday there were 67 in attendance. Anyone who attended at least 3 nights had the chance to take a trip with us to Magic Waters Waterpark on Saturday Afternoon. Over 50 kids and 12 BRAVE VOLUNTEERS made the trip.
Each Day Started and Ended At Life Spring Lagoon
We gathered at Life Spring Lagoon to start and end each day. At the lagoon we opened in prayer, said our Pledges, sang songs, won prizes, and collected our offering for the General Baptist Mission at Faith Home Orphanage in Honduras. We met at the Lagoon again to end each day and everyone had a chance for more prizes before being dismissed.

Everyone Favorite Place - The Prize Pool

Everyday we said the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag, The Christian Flag and the Bible.
Off For More Fun
After leaving the Lagoon some went to Bible Study, some to Crafts, some had a Snack, and some played games. What everyone did was have allot of fun. No matter what the kids were doing they enjoyed themselves.

What's This All About?
In an attempt to add some fun and competition to the offering for Faith Home in Honduras our courageous VBS Director and her husband agreed to take a pie in face if their team won. If the girls gave more then Bill would take the pie, and if the girls gave more then Jeanne would get hit by the pie. Coming into Friday night it looked like a landslide for the girls, and Bill was prepared to take it like a man. In an attempt to get the offering up a little more Jeanne said that if we went over $200 for the week then both of them would get hit by a pie. After the offering we fell short of the $200 goal, but that total wouldn't last. We got a last minute donation of $100 to be split evenly between the boys and the girls brining our total to $247! That meant Jeanne and Bill both got a pie in the face.

Bill goes first since the Boys lost.

Now it's Jeanne's turn.
